Beneath the concave cheekbones, the magical handguns with infinite bullet capacity, and the byzantine criminal underworld that stretches to every corner of the globe, he’s just a monosyllabic middle-aged man who wants to be left the fuck alone. When the first movie of this increasingly ridiculous saga began, Mr. Wick was grieving his wife’s death in peace—then some Russian mobsters made the mistake of killing his dog (her name was Daisy, and she was very cute). This aggression, unknowingly committed against a man so dangerous that he used to be known as “Baba Yaga, ” forced John back into the network of contract killers he’d once left behind. And ever since the shadowy crime lords of the High Table sniffed blood, they haven’t lost the scent or minded their own business. At the end of “John Wick: Chapter 2, ” our laconic hero committed a big no-no by shooting a pest on the consecrated grounds of the Continental Hotel, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and every New Yorker knows what it’s like when the world gets a bit too close for comfort. Giddy, exhausting, and breathtakingly violent, “Minha Mãe é Uma Peça 3: O Filme” begins a few seconds after the previous installment left off, with the excommunicated assassin trying to make the most of the hour-long headstart he’s been given to hide before the $14 million bounty on his head is triggered and the entire criminal underworld comes after him. Of course, anyone who’s seen the previous films in this unexpected franchise knows that its criminal underworld is more of an overworld, and that almost every featured extra? —? from street vendors and waiters to dog-walkers and homeless people? —? is a heat-packing hired gun who uses their role in the capitalist system as a disguise for their deeper allegiance to a veiled society that operates on an ancient market of codes and blood oaths. Now that Mr. Wick is square in the middle of all of those crosshairs, it’s become comically impossible for the deathless widower to find the solace he seeks. He’s a target, and it seems like the entire world has its finger on the trigger; he used to be anonymous, but now he’s a celebrity. In its most enjoyably demented moments, “Parabellum” is nothing short of a non-stop metaphor for being famous. Less artful but more concussive than its immediate predecessor, this latest outing finds Mr. Wick being clocked by strangers every time he enters a room, stalked by his biggest fans, and so desperate for someone who will treat him like an actual human being that he travels all the way to the Sahara Desert to find them. Everyone in the world knows him by name, New York City is the only place on Earth he can hide in plain sight, and the perks of his job don’t seem to compare with the harassment that comes with them. As Wick stumbles through the wet neon streets of Times Square—returning us to a surprisingly involved film world that flows like “The Raid” and looks like a hyper-saturated Instagram feed? —? it’s hard not to think of Reeves’ recent experience on a malfunctioning airplane, and how even that death-defying ordeal was turned into a viral moment (to the actor’s mild chagrin). Reeves once said that Wick was 40% him, but that number seems to have crept up a bit this time around. No movie has ever expressed the fight for anonymity with such viscerally literal force. True to the serialized nature of its title, “Minha Mãe é Uma Peça 3: O Filme” starts in media res and ends on a cliffhanger. For an 131-minute film that devotes roughly 110 minutes of its runtime to people shooting each other in the head at close range, it would be almost impossible to follow for someone who isn’t up to speed. Still, the gist of the plot is pretty simple: John Wick kills a lot of people. Like, a lot of people. By the end of “Parabellum, ” he’s basically the leading cause of death in henchmen between the ages of 25 and 50. More of a one-man massacre than ever before (but just raggedy enough to keep things “real”), Mr. Wick fights in a punishingly brutal style that builds on what director Chad Stahelski invented for the character in the previous films. This is a character who appears to know every single language under the sun, but violence is the most expressive part of his vocabulary (Reeves speaks maybe 100 words in the entire movie). Chinese wushu, Japanese judo, Southeast Asian silat, American Glock… Wick is fluent in them all. But while Stahelski and his team have obviously put a great deal of thought into every frame of fisticuffs, “Parabellum” is so relentless that it often devolves into a numbing flurry of shoulder flips and headshots. If “Chapter 2” bordered on high art for how cleverly it weaved tactical shootouts into public locations (and made every fight operate like an organic bit of world-building), “Chapter 3” is more out in the open. A sneaky little skirmish in Grand Central Station doesn’t live up to Stahelski’s creative potential, even if it’s amazing they pulled off the scene at all. Elsewhere, a motorcycle chase along an empty Manhattan bridge is too rushed and blurry to deliver the “Fury Road” ferocity it teases, and the climactic brawl? —? which makes great use of some familiar faces, and hinges on a funny dynamic of mutual respect—is overwhelmed by a set that looks like a high-end watch commercial, and feels like a watered-down retread of the house of mirrors sequence from the end of the previous movie. Driven by a profound respect for the expressive power of beating someone to death, and empowered by their 54-year-old star’s remarkable skill and commitment, Stahelski and the other poets of percussive carnage that work at his 87Eleven Productions are still (a severed) head and shoulders above the rest of Hollywood’s stunt community. But they can do more with this character, even if it means slowing things down and widening them out. To that end, it’s telling that the most exciting brawl in “Parabellum” (with the possible exception of a knife fight in a Chinatown antiques store) maintains a more expansive vision, as Mr. Wick fights alongside Halle Berry and some four-legged sidekicks. Traveling to Casablanca for reasons that are never adequately explained, Mr. Wick meets up with an assassin named Sofia who owns a pair of well-trained Malinois dogs; like every other supporting character in this movie, there’s mixed blood between them, and she owes him something for some reason. There are coins and seals and lots of jibber jabber about High Table manners and then “Game of Thrones” star Jerome Flynn shows up as a Bronn-like business type who’s a bit too greedy for his own good (it’s hard to tell what accent Flynn is doing here, but he’s most definitely doing it). When the bullets fly, Sofia’s very Minha Mãe é Uma Peça 3: O Filme lend a valuable assist, and Stahelski has to open things up in order to frame the dogs as they chew on fresh corpses. The sequence is very “John Wick” and horribly terrific in a hand-over-your-mouth kind of way; it does more than any of the tossed-off business with the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburn) or the Continental Hotel owner (Ian McShane) to whet our appetites for another adventure. Anjelica Huston is also somewhat wasted as the matriarch of a Harlem ballet academy with ties to Wick’s past, but her scenes are so immaculately shot that you’re willing to let it slide. In a film that plays fast and loose with NYC geography, all is forgiven by turning 175th street’s United Palace into the “Tarkovsky Theater, ” where people are trained to be killers in between performances of “Swan Lake. ” The film’s world-building works best in small doses. A meeting in the middle of the desert is a total dead end, whereas all sorts of fun details can be inferred from Stahelski’s frequent cutaways to the High Table nerve center, where dozens of tattooed and lip-glossed workers monitor Wick’s bounty with an old-fashioned switchboard (imagine a SuicideGirls reboot of “Mad Men” and you’ll have the right idea). Non-binary “Billions” star Asia Kate Dillon plays a stiff and slinky High Table adjudicator who’s covered in Thierry Mugler coture; part referee and part femme fatale, their performance speaks to an underworld that’s sustained by a mutual respect for all people so long as they don’t shoot the wrong target. While this franchise is starting to feel a bit long in the tooth, such details suggest that screenwriter Derek Kolstad (here sharing credit with three other scribes) can still mine this world for plenty of new life, so long as future installments find a way to deepen the John Wick mythos instead of just stretching it out. With the significant exception of “Mission: Impossible, ” this is easily the best action franchise Hollywood has going these days, and it would be great for it to keep going with renewed focus. The fact that Keanu Reeves is nearing 60 won’t matter to his fans. For one thing, the man is seemingly ageless. For another, retirement no longer seems like a realistic option for a guy who still gets recognized everywhere he goes. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Hollywood star or a $14 million bounty—fame can be a difficult thing to shake. It’s a work-or-die world, and being forgotten is neither on the table nor under it. This is how entertainment should be: engaging, entertaining & telling an important story in a time of civic society uprise against corporate coruption. The atmosphere is tight, the film never slows down and Mark Ruffalo & Tim Robbins bring us honest & wonderful portrayals of their characters!
10/10 Must see & worthy of (at least one) Oscar.

Their main area of work is throughout Burma (also known as Myanmar) but concentrate primarily on the heavily forested border region, delivering emergency medical assistance to sick and injured internally displaced people, or IDP's; a consequence of the long running campaign of violence by the military junta, the State Peace and Development Council, against Burma's ethnic minorities. FBR trains teams of men and women in frontline medical treatment and reconnaissance techniques. In addition to delivering humanitarian relief, a secondary role of the teams is to obtain evidence of military violence and human rights abuse. This information is then published in the form of online reports and / or released to larger international human rights groups, inter-governmental organisations such as the UN, and news agencies. FBR is one of a number of grass roots organisations (see Mae Tao Clinic Mae Tao Clinic & Back Pack Health Worker Team Back Pack Health Worker Team) which have emerged in response to the growing health needs of Burma’s persecuted ethnic underclass. FBR are not supported by either the Thai or Burmese authorities and their activity inside the Burmese border is clandestine. Mission statement [ edit] “ To bring help, hope and love to people of all faiths and ethnicities in the conflict areas, to shine a light on the actions of oppressors, to stand with the oppressed and support leaders and organizations committed to liberty, justice and service. ” —  [1] History [ edit] FBR was formed in the late 1990s following an escalation of Burmese military activity against the Karen people. Villages were destroyed, people killed and more than 100, 000 people forced from their homes [1] in a program of violence which was designed to remove people from land in order to make way for developing business interests. [2] The history, character and on-going activity of the Rangers is closely linked to its American founder, Tha-U-Wah-A-Pah (the assumed Karen pseudonym, henceforth TUWAP of Dave Eubank): a Fuller Theological Seminary -educated Pastor and ex-member of the U. S. Special Forces. Having already spent a number of years as a missionary in Burma, in 1996, following a chance meeting with Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of the National League for Democracy, TUWAP was inspired to initiate a ‘Global Day of Prayer’ [1] and help to strengthen unity between the majority Burman population and the various minority ethnic groups. [3] TUWAP was then in Burma during the Army Offensives of 1997, distributing medicine to those displaced by the conflict, and it was during this time that he decided to employ his broad mixture of skills to bring a unique brand of humanitarian relief to a greater number. In the words of the FBR leader, “[The situation in Burma] is a slow, creeping cancer, in which the regime is working to dominate, control, and radically assimilate all the ethnic peoples of the country. ” [4] In January 2013 footage obtained by the Free Burma Rangers and released to the world's media was instrumental in stopping continued Burmese military offensives against the Kachin Independence Army in the north of Myanmar. [5] At least one FBR team was present at the liberation of Mosul, Iraq, in 2017. [6] FBR Teams [ edit] Every year about 15 multi-ethnic teams, including representatives from the Karen, Karenni, Shan, Arakan, Kachin and other ethnic groups complete the intensive Ranger training. The training program is delivered with the help of other specialist organisations, including the Mae Tao Clinic and covers a diverse and comprehensive mix of practical relief, survival skills and socio-political awareness, including: ethnic issues ethics conflict resolution public health first aid advanced medical and basic dental care human rights interviewing and documentation reporting counselling Break down of full-time relief teams by ethnic origin Overview of FBR relief operations since 1997 Total teams trained: 300 Relief missions conducted: over 1, 000 Patients treated: over 550, 000 People helped: over 1, 200, 000 [7] Fields of operation [ edit] FBR teams operate in conflict zones other than Burma, such as the conflict involving ISIS in Syria and Iraq. In it, a fictionalised Burmese military played the role of the 'evil oppressors' and, although the film didn't make it to Burmese cinema screens, it became a huge underground success amongst the Burmese population. This film is primarily a series of fascinating “So now what? ” moments. What will Leigh do with this corpse? What will she say to the dead man’s girlfriend? And so on. “Blood on Her Name” runs out of juicy “So now what’s” by its final stretch. Джун Ли садится на подоконник своей убогой квартирки в Нью-Йорке и размышляет о своем нуарном бытии. Женщина страдает агорафобией, не осмеливается покинуть комнату и это всё на фоне деяний серийного убийцы по прозвищу Сын Сэма, весело рассылающего письма в газеты. Тяжелый на атмосферу и легкий на сюжет фильм «Час волка» разворачивается в этом маленьком и грязном помещении, выстраивая своеобразный концепт — по-своему неотразимый, но по большому счету пропитанный слишком натянутой паранойей и дурным производственным дизайном. Невероятно герметичный фильм может быть практически пьесой, но это, увы, больше похоже на второсортное подражание Полански. Отсутствие угрозы за пределами страха невротической главной героини скрывает эмоциональное воздействие на фоне Нью-Йорка 1977-го — города, объединившего волну убийств, финансовый крах, изнуряющую жару и отключение электричества. Всё бы ничего, и столь интересную психологическую задумку в этом филиале ада на земле можно было бы принять, однако всё вторично — «Кровавое лето Сэма» Спайка Ли вышло на экраны 20 лет назад. «Час волка» слишком полагается на фоновый шум; экзистенциальная угроза и вина некогда уважаемой писательницы слишком слабоваты. С точки зрения механики сюжета «Час волка» почти полностью состоит из каши и спрятанным под досками «чеховским ружьём», которое почти сразу же забывается. Неясен мир, который выстраивает «Час волка». Джун явно проводит в одиночестве много времени, особенно учитывая скопление мусорных мешков. Тем не менее, в какой-то момент микромир «Волка» начинает рушится. При появлении всё большего количества посторонних в хрупкой вселенной Джун сценарий разрушается. Хаотичный реальный мир — не место для этой квартирки, из-за чего страдает драматический эффект. Философские диалоги и подсказки, что бросают в разговорах герои, начинают раздражать, равно как и поступки персонажей, отличающихся от их образа действий. Достаточно легко понять, что привлекло такую талантливую актрису, как Наоми Уоттс к этому материалу, состоящему буквально из одной установки. По большому счету это театр одного актера, сольное шоу, поэтому и весь остальной актерский состав чувствуется провальным. Уоттс пытается донести свою тревогу до зрителя, но это слабо удается: очевидная метафора разваливающегося общества ничем не выделяется. Взрывоопасные идеи расизма, сексизма, вины и заблуждений той эпохи тонут в городской изоляции — очень слабый фильм не согласован ни с одной из своих идей. И если Вы не были в Лете 1977-го года, если Вы не читали романов о нем — лучше бежать вон, наружу, пока домофонные звонки внешней тревоги не провели мелом круг, из которого запросто не выйти. Картина разворачивается большой ямой угнетения, в которую зритель попадает, перешагнув порог отвращения к жизни взаперти. Рождение большого письменного труда Джун надолго затворило дверь во внешний мир для неё, предпочитающей защиту четырех стен удовлетворению любых человеческих нужд. Не обещая ни себе ни миру создать что-то новое, она с презрением смотрит на полные её старых мыслей страницы, воспеваемые родной сестрой. Визит последней — одна из немногих вещей задверного мира, что не огорчает испуганную Ли. Родственница видит свою миссию в пополнении провианта спятившей Джун, в дарении живого общения той, с которой без слов могли понимать друг друга когда-то, хотя теперь без человеческого слова одна из вас предпочла жить, покуда доллары из тумбочки это позволяли. Они же позволили одну короткую ночь с незнакомцем, оказавшимся ближе всех близких, напомнившего, без своего ведома, незнакомке, кто она такая. В страхе не наступившего утра не более двух людей за раз могут находиться в этой квартире, вечно сотрясающейся от одного и того же звона тех, кто не собирается входить, предвестников того самого часа, что преломит последние остатки спокойствия во многих сразу. Сначала смирение, а позже и вдохновение приходят в душу Джун, отодвигая все остальные чувства. Лишь только слово, лишь только запись, лишь только завтра остаются близкой, как никогда, надеждой впереди взявшей себя в ослабевшие руки писательницы. Вера в возможность договориться с тем, кого она впускает на свой страх и риск в дом, поскольку тот не скрывает своего истинного лица и положения, располагает Ли к себе вместо того, чтобы пугать. Отчаяние одинокой женщины в добровольном заточении, не тронувшее даже представителей защиты порядка, стало лакомым кусочком для всех голодных глаз Нью-Йорка. И пусть резкая попытка изменить свое положение видится удачной в голове затворника, зрителю, трезвому перед экраном, с восприятием человека социального, становится очевидно, насколько далеко в замыленный разум уходят корни страха переступать порог. Но так ли далеко? — провокативное безумие на улицах становится ответом. Этот фильм уже вторая полнометражная картина Алистэра Бэнкса Гриффина, молва о котором не пошла дальше артхаусных фестивалей после первой режиссерской пробы. Работа над персонажем Наоми Уоттс была несколько упрощенной, поскольку она уже бывала в подобном состоянии духа в «Малхолланд Драйв» Линча, а вот постановка целостной картины — достойная работа Гриффина, копнувшего вглубь себя, нашедшего силы соединить то, что видел, с тем, о чем читал, способного создать атмосферу и не позволить нам выходить из нее ровно столько же, сколько Джун Ли не выходит из дому. Фильм прошел незамеченным, но это лишь удваивает удовольствие от такой неожиданной находки, на создание которой ушло ~ 18 дней съемок. The focus of the film is something that isn't actually explored all that often and it's great to see it portrayed so sensitively here. The picture's grounded, non- romanticised' romance is brilliant, too. It feels as close to 'real' as possible, an honest and moving exploration of love that never seems heightened or false. The two stars deliver the goods in their subtle, harder-than-you-may-expect roles, coming together as a compelling pair of, essentially, real people. They have flaws and they argue but they also have an undeniable connection. When this is exploited, it's really heart-warming. When it comes down to it, though, the flick just isn't all that exciting or, perhaps, impactful. It's engaging enough and never even close to boring, but it doesn't quite hit home as hard as it ought to. It's good, don't get me wrong. I can't quite put into words what it is that it is, for me, missing. I guess I'll say it like this: it's good, but it's not great. 6/10.

A reminder that Neeson is actually quite the versatile actor with the right material and a powerful lead alongside him. Emotional and a story that will likely effect most of us at sometime an intelligent, respectful yet all the powerful for it film that did not overstate or understate in any department but struck the perfect tone. Not necessarily for everyone but I for one thought it was fantastic.
